I am trying.
I am trying to be mature and sophisticated and educated and calm and peaceful and one-with-the-mat and all that bullshit.
Breathe.
But what I really want to do is take a pick-up and bust it clear through the espresso swirling, BMW driving, Burberry wearing, Coach carrying lobby of the glass castle nestled in the middle of the venture-capitalist, no-one-gives-a-shit-enough-to-know-your-name 1% responsible crushing souls and proving, sadly, that nice guys do, quite often, finish last.
Even though he saved the company millions.
Even though he saved the company’s reputation.
Even though he mentored, consoled, and elevated those above and below.
Even though he cut, reduced, eliminated.
Even though he was fair, honest, secure, and calm not some of the time, but all of the time.
Even though he did not pretend at work, but worked at work.
Layoffs suck when necessary. But when they are not necessary and happen anyway, they’re criminal.
Not for what they do to the wallet, but more so for what they do to the soul.
Hrm. Booooo!
Me too. 🙁 But way more unfair than a lay off. Corporate America just isn’t the way it used to be. I guess.
Makes me sad..for these folks: these do the right thing folks who fail to be recognized.

All the more reason to leave work early for kids games, p/teacher conferences, and concerts! Family first people!
