Sometimes I talk to much. You might have heard that about me and this is one of those times, recorded in high def for all the world to see: me and the ladies who lunch at the Connecticut Against Gun Violence luncheon.
Me and my breasts. The video is good, but sure wish they panned the audience so you could see just how out of my element I was.
These were not my people. I should have been parking cars.
They were brave to invite me, and a kind, generous crowd of pretty, popular, painfully white people. Mostly women so they understood the topic all too well.
They laughed, and when it was over, they opened their wallets wide and donated to CAGV so we can keep fighting the fight locally here in Connecticut.
Take a listen and let me know what you think:
If you like what you hear, consider throwing a couple dollars to CAGV. Here’s an easy-peasy way to send $$ their way: Click here to donate cuz CAGV does the heavy work, and I just mooch lunch and laughs.
After the event and people were milling about, a woman thanked me the absolute best way possible. She was older, much older, and grabbed both her boobs, looked me right in the eyes, and nodding, knowingly proclaimed:
“Four babies.”
Maybe these were my people after all.
I’m wearing orange (#wearorange) for 3rd Annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day June 2nd and marching with the Newtown contingency of GVP (gun violence prevention) movers and shakers because with so much broken in our country at present, I don’t want to lose sight of the very real preventable damage that easy access to unregulated guns can do.
For me, I wear orange for Newtown. Still. Always.
Hilarious, and effective. I donated to prove it. And here’s a favorite comedian of mine who reminds me of you. Hope you can understand her accent. https://youtu.be/Qwkpba2zOV4
A friend told me you rocked the house that day, and he is SO right. You are FABULOUS! Your writing, your wit, and your reading of your writing – just amazing. THANK YOU! And of course I will #wearorange tomorrow!!
