I’m nobody and don’t pretend to be anything I’m not. Recently, I’ve been thinking there’s a whole lot of nobodys out there, and if we could all get together and decide to do something, we’d be somebody.
Wow. That sounds like some pretty serious late night, smokin’ discussion on third floor of the mighty, mighty Sig Tau house back in the 80s. (Or so I’ve heard.)
So I jumped at the chance to speak to a group of motivated Connecticut residents learning what to do during this midterm election year, and why it matters. Thanks to kind folks at Connecticut Against Gun Violence for including me in their impressive circle.
Take a listen on why I do what I do, and why it matters.
You can be pro-gun, and pro-gun safety. Don’t wait until tragedy strikes to get involved; you needn’t do much, but you can share this post and perhaps, ask your candidate where they stand on gun violence prevention.
I so appreciate you listening, learning, sharing, and hopefully, voting gun safety. So that you can remain a nobody too.
ps: gotta teach the rather attractive husband to turn the flippin’ iphone sideways.

Thank you for mentioning the NIU shooting — so many people overlook it, as if it never happened. Of course, I can’t just “forget” it because I live with the devastating consequences every day.
There’s just so many…it becomes white noise until it comes to your community. So sorry for your loss; and we here in CT are working hard to bring awareness and get people to vote this issue. xo from Newtown.
Mrs. Mayer, I listened to the entire video, and..I might be too young to understand, but I tried my best, I’m scared everyday, even just thinking things like what if it happened to my friends, since I play games online, I’d be so upset if it happened to them, but it happened to us.. and I’ve realized its not easy to relate to..they don’t understand but they help, they push to help, especially the older ones, people care, and I’ve learned that just by letting people know about my life, I think we just need to find them.
hi gracie, people do care and lots of them are working to make the world a kinder, safer place. I meet them all the time! And you are helping too, don’t underestimate the power of telling your story and letting people know who you are and where you’re from. Think about joining Jr. Newtown Action Alliance and AC4P club at NHS: they’d be lucky to have you.
